E46 driver door not unlocking

 · I have an E46 BMW whose driver side door won't unlock or lock with both the key and the central locking button. I can still unlock/lock it with the key and with a push of my finger from the top. I can also unlock it from inside of the car by simply using the handle (pull once to unlock and then again to open the door).  · Just a thought, but the E46's do have issues with body control module failure and the door locks acting up are a somewhat common symptom. Might be something to check out, the modules run roughly $ plus a little bit of labor to install and code to the car.  · By the way, unlocking of the driver's door is partially independent of the other doors. Just because you haven't had problem with the other doors unlock doesn't mean it's not a general module problem. Remember these cars have selective unlocking. The driver's door can be unlocked without unlocking the other doors.

Driver door locking but not unlocking - remotely or with lock/unlock key inside the car. Actuator already replaced by mechanic with authentic new one. Plus, key rather breaks the lock mechanics than opens the door - but works easy and perfect when battery disconnected. By the way, unlocking of the driver's door is partially independent of the other doors.
